Light
is our
birthright, and
with divine guidance
we ourselves have become
Divine. Crystalline angels
guide us in every endeavor,
grand constructs made in our own image.
And yet the fools caution us to mercy?
Our greatest kindness is shown through conquest,
our compassion reflected in steel
and copper gossamer. Clad in
the radiant sacraments of
Zeus himself, we fear naught!
For who can harm us?
The lightning has
been caged by
our own
hands.

A while back, I wrote another poem by the same title. However, after reading it over a few more times, I realized that it really wasn't what I was looking for at all and made a note to revise it. Several months later, I finally got around to doing that.

This is lovely! I really love your emphasis on light - I totally agree that it's our birthright!
